 MACAU As the weather warms up and nature bursts forth with greenery, the stage is set for an unforgettable summer. Galaxy Macau™ joins hands with celebrated Chinese paper sculptor Wen Qiuwen to present Macau's very first large-scale paper sculpture exhibition—a captivating experience for locals and tourists alike. Cultural Affairs Bureau, Macao Government Tourism Office and Macau Artist Society are the supporting unit of the exhibition. This campaign aimed at promoting Macau's unique "Tourism + Culture" proposition, which offers visitors a diverse array of cultural and entertainment experiences— building the city's reputation as a "World Centre of Tourism and Leisure".

To celebrate this momentous occasion, the restaurants at Galaxy Macau will be introducing special summer menus that showcase the vibrant flavours of the season. And for sun worshippers, the Grand Resort Deck reopens for the season, letting visitors splash into summer at the world's leading skytop water park.

Kicking off summer with a spectacular launch event

Distinguished guests include Ms. Leong Wai Man, President of the Cultural Affairs Bureau of the Macao SAR Government; Mr. Philip Cheng Yee Sing, the Director of Galaxy Entertainment Group; Mr. Lok Hei, President of Macau Artist Society; Ms. Wen Qiuwen, Chinese paper sculpture artist attended the "Summer Fantasia @ Galaxy Macau" Opening Ceremony event on April 28, 2023

In the speech at the Opening Ceremony, Mr. Philip Cheng Yee Sing, the Director of Galaxy Entertainment Group said: "We remain committed to collaborate with the Macau SAR Government to promote Macau's "Tourism£«" cross-sector integration and engages visitors with a diverse range of experiences combining culture. We believe the collaboration with renowned Chinese paper sculptor Wen Qiuwen is a perfect opportunity to bring Chinese culture to the tourist from the world and also helping to build Macau as World Centre of Tourism and leisure."

A paper garden to dazzle the senses

Prepare to be spellbound by Wen Qiuwen's enchanting paper garden at Galaxy Macau, where a vibrant and playful universe awaits. Step into a candy-coloured garden where whimsical creatures bask in the warmth of summer, illuminating the Milky Way and infusing every corner with vitality. Butterflies and birds dance amidst glittering stars, while flamingos, robins and hares frolic alongside a colourful school of fish. This immersive journey blends virtual and reality, tantalising all the senses.

Wen Qiuwen, Chinese Paper Sculptor is recognized for her works that combine paper art and light sculpture, the most famous of which include "Southern Lion Girl" and "Shanhai Fish Lantern". Her works are seen as Chinese symbols and have been exhibited at the Centre Pompidou in France, as well as art festivals in ItalyHong Kong and various cities in Mainland China. For the collaboration with Galaxy Macau, Wen Qiuwen imagined a "Galactical Botanical Garden", crafting a dream-like world where planets and stars revel in a summer garden brimming with exotic plants, blooming flowers, and every manner of finned, feathered and furry friends. Large-scale paper sculpture will be presented in Diamond Lobby, East Square, Crystal Lobby and Pearl Lobby in Galaxy Macau.

Non-stop fun at Galaxy Kidz

The newly enhanced Grand Resort Deck officially opened on 15 April. Across this 75,000-square-metre water park, guests can dive into awesome adventures at the world's longest Skytop Adventure River Ride and Rapids stretching 575 metres and the largest Skytop Wave Pool in the world and a 150-meter pristine, white sand beach.  Plus, kids can take photos with installation of Wavey the Peacock, the water park's cute new mascot.

On top of exciting water activities, kids can enjoy hours of creative fun with arts and crafts at the new Edutainment Centre, located on the second floor of Galaxy Hotel. Part of the Galaxy Kidz programme, the Edutainment Centre hosts workshops and fun activities for parents and children to unleash their imaginations.

To complement Wen Qiuwen's exhibition, kids can take part in Children's Paper Art Workshop on Saturday and Sunday afternoons until 11 June at Galaxy Macau's East Square. Two sessions will be offered each day, with a quota of 8 participants per session (including 1 parent per child). Participation is free for guests who register as Galaxy Ultimate members. The flavours of summer

Galaxy Macau's restaurants have curated a series of limited-edition menus that showcase the finest seasonal ingredients, providing guests with exceptional summer dining experiences. Here are a few delectable highlights.

For tasty Chinese fare, head over to Galaxy Macau Tam Chai Yu Chun to savour their Simmered Boston Lobster with Chinese White Tea. Known as the "King of Teas", Silver Needle Tea is first cold-brewed, then used to infuse the lobster with brisk umami flavours.

True Northern Classics Signature Dongbei & Shandong flavors restaurant Bei Shan Lou provide a delicacy of Braised Sea Cucumber and Deer Tendon with Assorted Grains. Premium deer tendon and sea cucumbers are expertly prepared and gently braised with yellow millet, wholegrain corn, wild rice, red beans and lotus seeds. The resulting dish is flavourful, unctuous and nourishing.

Pang's Kitchen will delight seafood lovers with Sauteed Scallops in Pumpkin Bowl with Assorted Mushrooms. The sweetness of Japanese Kabocha pairs beautifully with ocean-fresh scallops. Yellow Ear, Elm Ear and Black Wood Ear mushrooms makes the dish especially nourishing—perfect for a summer meal.

For an exquisite dessert, Pak Loh Chiu Chow Restaurant serves up an enticing Sweetened Mashed Taro with Bird's Nest and Egg White. Rich in vitamins and high in collagen and is ideal treat for a summer get-together.

For a tempting way to stay cool, visit Lugang Café to try their Seasonal Fruit on Shaved Ice. This popular Taiwanese dessert features a selection of ripe summer fruits that will have you coming back for more.

In honour of Wen Qiuwen's exhibit, The Macallan Whiskey Bar & Lounge presents 3 limited-edition cocktails inspired by the colours of Qiuwen's art as well as the sensuality of summer nights.

CHA BEI has prepared a leisurely Floral Afternoon Tea Set inspired by 4 summer blossoms: plum blossoms, orchids, chrysanthemums and bamboo blossoms. The set features desserts crafted with summer fruits as well as Chinese-inspired savoury treats. As a time-limited collaboration with artist Wen Qiuwen, CHA BEI will also host a pop-up coffee shop in the East Square. At this pop-up, guests can sample CHA BEI's signature creations as well as take home limited-edition souvenir cup holders designed by Qiuwen herself.
